The Oregon Jump$tart Coalition is a statewide, all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the financial literacy of ALL Oregonians. Oregon Jump$tart is an affiliate of the national Jump$tart Coalition which is focused on youth, but Oregon has expanded this focus to all Oregonians. We are a coalition, comprised of individuals, non-profit organizations, governmental agencies and the corporate sector. The Coalition believes that financial literacy is a necessary life skill for all in order to be successful in life.
Money Smart Week (MSW) is a public awareness campaign sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. Oregon has participated for the past two years. CLICK HERE to find Money Smart Week events in your area.

Teacher Workshops
The NYSE offers professional development training to educators who teach personal finance. These workshops provide a full understanding of the capital raising process and the NYSE's trading platforms as well as increases the teachers' ability to include financial education throughout their curriculum. Governor Kitzhaber Proclaims April Financial Literacy Month
Governor Kitzhaber states that "By increasing the financial literacy of Oregonians we can improve the quality of their lives, provide them with skills for success, as well as strengthen the economy of the state" in his Proclamation of April as Financial Literacy Month. Oregon Department of Education - Financial Literacy Standards
The Oregon Department of Education, with feedback from Oregon Jump$tart, adopted new Social Sciences Standards for K-12 in August 2011. These new standards highlight financial literacy. CLICK HERE to see the new standards.
